The Theater

I stand here waiting thoughtfully
Feet shuffle on the pavement restlessly
The line stirs ever so slightly
A couple nestle together warmly
A child tugs impatiently at his mother's hem
They are strangers to me, yet I am home
Soon we will all be whisked away
As far as imagination roams
We will laugh together, scream together
And even cry together
Then we will depart somehow sadly
And we will place our memories deep inside us
The last breath of day is drawn
A wave of excitement befalls us
And the doors open
