Broadway on Broadway 1994
Michael:
Hello?
So can Broadway really rock?
(Cheers from the audience)
Well, I don't think so from that.
Can you really
really rock?
(Much louder cheers from the audience)
Now I believe you. And you
up at 50th Street- you too?
Anybody know any jokes?
(The orchestra begins)
Sensation
I overwhelm as I approach you
Make your lungs hold breath inside!
Lovers break caresses for me.
Love distracted don't know why.
You'll feel me coming
A new vibration
From afar you'll see me.
I'm a sensation
I'm a sensation!
(Michael jumps off the stage onto the street with the 50,000 other people in Times Square.
He reaches out and touches the hands of the ecstatic fans behind the barriers.)
Michael:
They're moved by me and all I touch;
Hazy-eyed, they catch my glance.
Pleasant shudders shake their senses.
My warm momentum throws their stance...
(The fans reach back to him with cheers & excitement
until...
Two rather large police officers remind Michael
where the stage is...
This inspires laughter and cries of disappointment
from the fans nearest the stage)
Michael: (continuing as he runs
up the stairs back onstage)
You'll feel me coming
A new vibration
From afar you'll see me.
I'm a sensation
I'm a sensation!
Soon you'll see me...
Can you feel me?
I'm coming
(Michael leaps up onto a handy nearby pole)
I leave a trail of rooted people
Mesmerized by just the sight.
All these lovers feel me coming,
Love as one-in love tonight.
You'll feel me coming,
A new vibration,
From afar you'll see me,
I'm a sensation
I'm a sensation!
I'm a sensation
I'm a sensation!
I am the light.
