Temptation
Michael stars in new Independent movie Temptation
With barely time to breath since his immensely successful run as Giorgio
in the Sondheim festival highlight Passion, Michael has already been cast
as one of the leads in the new Independent movie musical "Temptation."
The movie is being directed by Mark Tarlov (Simply
Irresistable, The Man Who Knew Too Little, I Love You, I Love You Not) and also
stars Broadway veterans Alice Ripley and Adam Pascal.

has learned that some of theater's brightest talents are coming together to star
in a new independent rock movie musical called Temptation, based on the story
of Faust. The movie, which is being directed by Mark Tarlov, will star Broadway
vets Michael Cerveris (The Who's Tommy), Annie Golden (The Full Monty), Orfeh
(Saturday Night Fever, Love, Janis), Adam Pascal (Rent, Aida), Manley Pope (Rent)
and Alice Ripley (Side Show, The Rocky Horror Show), among others. Shooting is
expected to begin in early October in New York City.
According to a synopsis obtained by Broadway.com, Temptationis a mostly sung-through
musical set at a performance club called Urban Archaeology on Avenue B in the
East Village. The club is run by Pablo (Cerveris) and filled with regulars like
aspiring songstress Annie (Crossroads star Zoe Zaldana), club singer Yvonne (Orfeh),
doomed innocent Fog (Anika Noni-Rose), piano player Howard (Bat Boy's Deven May)
and Nora (Golden), a 40ish housewife trying to fit in to the sexually-charged
environment. Pope plays struggling actor Billy, the object of Annie's affection.
Sh-K-Boom recording artists Adam Pascal and Alice Ripley are cast as Nicholi and
Sabrina, the evil underworlders who come to Urban Archaeology to break hearts
and destroy lives.
Tarlov, who has previously worked as a film director (Simply Irresistable) and
producer (notable credits include the John Waters films Serial Mom, Pecker and
Cecil B. Demented), wrote the story of Temptation. The film will feature close
to 40 songs, by songwriters J.T. and Sydney and will also blend segments of animation
into the live action footage, which will be shot in digital video.
